University of Malaya Accounting Club

UMAC stands for “University of Malaya Accounting Club”, an organization which is under Faculty of Business & Accountancy of University of Malaya. UMAC was founded in 1975 and aims to assist and develop Accounting undergraduates in various aspects. In current competitive job market, we do hope students will be better equipped and further develop their potentials.


Vision

The Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya aims to achieve recognition, both locally and internationally, on its ability to produce innovative, resourceful and highly competent accountants who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the passion to excel and succeed in their careers.


Mission

We are responsible for the welfare of our members, the men and women who work with us throughout the year. We respect their spirit and their dedication to the Club. Members are free to voice out their thoughts and provide constructive feedback. We want to give an equal opportunity for all our members to develop and build themselves, physically, mentally and also spiritually.

We are responsible towards the faculty and the campus in which we pursue our studies and organize our projects. We are students who want to support all activities and projects organized by the faculty and the campus, for the sake of our own good.

We are responsible to community outside the Club, the students of the campus and the public who partake in our projects. To meet the expectations and needs of the community, we must always shows high levels of equality and determination in every project. We strive to achieve for the best results in everything we do.

We are responsible for our own welfare. We want to continue to equip ourselves with knowledge, both academic knowledge and technical skills. We aim to be accountants who are highly competent and capable of handling various tasks. We want to contribute our ideas and learn from our mistakes.


Objective

  • To create UM accounting undergraduates with competitive advantage in term of employability by enhancing their knowledge, skills, and attitude as well as building  up a strong networking with future employers.
  • To promote and protect the good image of University of Malaya Accounting Club across Malaysia.
  • To instill the sense of belonging and teamwork among UMACians.
